"It would seem that one servant may have been with Washington's force at Fort Necessity. In April 1755 the Prince William Court ordered that the petition of John Wright the younger for his servant Samuel Gray 'who was sent to the Expedition on the Ohio' was to be sent to the General Assembly for certification. It is not clear if Gray had been illegally enlisted or was in some form of support element." (1)
