"25 Jan 1691/92. Benjamin Vickers, servant to Mr. Dannll. Parkes, petitioning for his freedom, setting forth that his father bound him in England to serve Mr. parkes in Virginia for five yeares after his arrivall hear, Mr. Pines Weldon appearing attorny for Mr. Parkes but noe indenture or judgment of Court appearing for the time of Vickers' service and he haveing now served five years according to the custome of this country and seventeenth moneths over, itt is the opinnion of this Court that the said servant be free and his freedome dues is accordingly granted and Mr. Parkes is ordered to pay him his freedome corne and cloaths."
