16 September 1747, Patrick Burk and Bridget O Dowland two convict servants belonging to Robt Bratten being committed to the Goal of this county by proxy under the hand and seal of Wm Jameson Gent. for stealing from their said master one black gelding of the value of twelve pounds Currt money one sorrell mare of the value of fifteen pounds currt money as also one silk gown one farthen Do one pr of white stocking two pr of silver buckles Several other Gowns & goods who being brought to the bar the court having heard all proofs both agt and for the prisoner are of opinion that they are guilty of the fact whereof they stand accused and do adjudge that they be remanded back to the county Goal from thence to be removed to the public Goal at Williamsburg - Augusta County, Va.
