"Barber pilloried and whipt
"It appearing to this Court that William Barber, Servant to Mr. Daniel Hornby, made use of a forged Certificate for to make his Escape from his said Master's service, it is therefore ordered that for the said offence the Sheriff take him and sett him in the Pillory for two hours and then gave him thirty lashes on his bare back well laid on." (3)
"Barber, W., West Country man. Runaway convict from Daniel Hornby of RIC Co., VA, Sep 1737 (Cameron). X." (4)
