"Note: William is believed to have immigrated to the area of Colonial Virginia by 1662, and settled in the area of Northumberland Co., VA. It is repo rted that his brothers Thomas, Charles, and Benjamin also came to the colo nies at later dates. He was granted 300 acres on 17 Mar 1679 in Northumber land Co., VA.. William left a will; dated 24 Jun 1698, and proved 18 Dec 1 700, in which he names his second wife Jane; sons William, John, James, a nd Charles; and daughter Anne. He left a plantation to each of his sons." (2)
